Esperance Services Commence

Earbus Foundation is is expanding its regular Goldfields Clinical visits to include Esperance commencing with a May visit to the Wongutha CAPS school in Gibson. Wongutha School Principal Shane Meyer hosted Earbus Foundation CEO Paul Higginbotham and Clinical Director Lara Shur in mid-2014 to discuss the school’s needs and student numbers.  

Wongutha CAPS enrols Aboriginal students from all over Western Australia and currently has an enrolment of 72 children. After an initial visit to Esperance in August 2014 to assist the Clontarf Academy to screen its new enrolees the Earbus Team was keen to help other Aboriginal children in the region.  

“It involves extending our regional trip by an extra day to make the long drive from Kalgoorlie” said Clinical Director Lara Shur “but it means we are able to offer same day screening and treatment through our GP, Audiologist and Nurse Audiometrist.” 

Earbus and Starlight Foundation will collaborate on this inaugural trip as part of their regional partnership.
