AngloGold Ashanti Signs on for 3 Years
AngloGold Ashanti (Australia) became our first significant corporate sponsor in January 2015 and this has quickly proven to be one of Earbus Foundation’s most important partnerships. The initial sponsorship was for 12 months but now AngloGold has signed a 3 year renewal of their commitment.
“We are delighted to see this important relationship continue” commented Earbus CEO Paul Higginbotham. “AngloGold has been an enthusiastic and committed partner and we celebrate the announcement of their re-engagement.” AngloGold is a major player in the Goldfields region, especially their Tropicana Mine. The Tropicana discovery was made in August 2005, 330 kilometres northeast of Kalgoorlie on the western edge of the Great Victoria Desert, an area not previously thought to be prospective for gold. The Joint Venture partners began gold production there in September 2013.
“It’s clear that AngloGold Ashanti sees this as an effective way to invest in the region” said Mr Higginbotham “Their financial and logistical support is deeply appreciated by Earbus Foundation.”
