Meet Catherine Zeevaarder
Originally from Melbourne, where her family still lives, Catherine spent many years nursing in Victoria and South Australia and arrived in Perth this year.
She started nursing at the time of the HIV/AIDs epidemic in Australia and this led her into infectious disease nursing. Since then she has worked in Infection Prevention and Control, Travel Health and Aboriginal Health. She is interested in the prevention of infections and diseases in Australia and worldwide.
Catherine is a keen adventurer and developed a passion for working in community settings after pivotal experiences in Nepal, living and working closely with communities for 18 months on education and development projects.
The opportunity to continue working in Aboriginal Health, visit different communities and help prevent middle ear disease was a fantastic opportunity she couldn’t miss!
